NOTE: Annah Rais Hot Spirngs is currently closed until further notice.
If you want a relaxing break from the busy city, Annah Rais Hot Springs is a perfect choice.
Located in the Padawan district, it is only about an hour’s drive from Kuching city. This natural jungle spa is surrounded by lush green forests and fresh mountain air.
For hundreds of years, the local Bidayuh community kept this place a secret, believing the waters held holy and healing powers. Today, it is open to the public, offering visitors a peaceful retreat right in the heart of nature.
Highlights of the attraction
The main draw of Annah Rais Hot Springs is the unique mix of hot and cold water. The geothermally heated water bubbles up from underground and flows directly into a cool, clear river.
The locals have built rock pools to help trap the hot water, allowing it to mix with the cool river water to create the perfect bathing temperature.
When you sit in the pools, you can enjoy the therapeutic, mineral-rich warm water while listening to the sounds of the jungle. You will also notice the beautiful, colourful pebble stones on the riverbed.
It is a fantastic spot for a quiet riverside picnic or simply letting your tired muscles rest after a few days of travelling.
Operating time, suggested time to spend & dressing when visiting
- Operating time: The hot springs are generally open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- Suggested time to spend: Most visitors spend about 1 to 2 hours here. This gives you plenty of time to soak in the warm pools, dip your feet in the cool river, and take some photos.
- Dressing: Since the weather is humid, wear light and breathable clothing. Bring your swimwear if you plan to take a full dip in the pools. It is also a very good idea to wear water shoes or waterproof sandals, as the river rocks can be quite slippery.
Ticket prices
Visiting this natural spa is very budget-friendly. The entrance fee is usually RM 5.00 per person.
The fee is collected at a small counter near the entrance, and the money goes towards keeping the area clean and well-maintained for future visitors.
