The Semenggoh Wildlife Centre is located about 24 kilometres from the Kuching city centre. The journey takes around 30 to 45 minutes, depending on traffic.
- By E-hailing (Grab): This is the easiest and most comfortable way to get there. A one-way trip costs around RM 25 to RM 35. Booking a Grab ride back to the city is also quite easy, as drivers usually wait around after the feeding sessions end.
- By Bus: For budget travellers, you can take the green K6 public bus from the Jalan Masjid bus stop in the city. The bus departs at around 7:15 am, getting you there just in time for the morning session. The fare is roughly RM 4.
- By Tour or Taxi: You can easily book a half-day tour from local travel agents in Kuching (which includes transport and a guide) or negotiate with a taxi driver to drop you off and wait for your return.

- Sightings are not guaranteed: Orangutans are wild animals. During the jungle’s fruiting season (usually between November and February), they have plenty of food in the wild and may not return to the centre for the extra fruits.
- Keep quiet: Loud noises will scare the animals away. Please speak in whispers and keep your mobile phones on silent mode.
- No flash photography: Sudden bright flashes can startle and stress the orangutans.
- Hide your food and drinks: Aside from a bottle of plain drinking water, leave your snacks behind. Orangutans have a brilliant sense of smell and may try to grab your bag if they think there is food inside.
